Bookkeeping, tax returns & payroll

Evenkeel Accountants

Books kept level, tax filed on time.

  • Receipts, a cheque book and a calculator on a desk
  • Hands holding a tax form beside a calculator
  • A calculator resting on a sheet of figures
  • Printed forms and a pen on a wooden table

We keep the books of 340 shops, studios and trades in and around Bristol — every month the same way, on the same day, so nothing about your numbers ever surprises you. See how a month goes

thebest books are the boring ones.

Four thingswe keepfor you.

  • Bookkeeping

You send: Receipts by photo, invoices by email, read-only access to your bank.

We return: Reconciled books every month and a one-page report you can read in two minutes.

    Monthly

  • VAT & tax returns

You send: Nothing new. We work from the books we already keep.

We return: VAT returns filed through Making Tax Digital, and your self-assessment filed by December.

    Quarterly

  • Payroll

You send: Hours, starters and leavers by the 20th.

We return: Payslips, pensions and the HMRC submission, on the same day every month.

    Monthly

  • Year-end accounts

You send: A short questionnaire in month eleven.

We return: Statutory accounts and corporation tax, signed off a month before the deadline.

A monthon the books

  1. Day 1

    Bank feeds in

Last month's transactions arrive by themselves. You do nothing.

  2. Day 8

    Receipts matched

Every photo you sent is matched to a payment; we ask about the rest in one email.

  3. Day 15

    Payroll checked

Hours, starters and leavers checked before the run, so pay day never moves.

  4. Day 22

    One page for you

Profit, cash, tax set aside and what is due next, on a single page.

Every month, February included.

From your old accountant

You sign one letter. We do the asking, the chasing and the moving, and tell you when it is done.

  1. Sign one letter

A letter of authority, signed on your phone in a minute.

  2. We ask for the files

Last year's accounts and papers, straight from your old firm.

  3. Your feeds connect

Bank, payroll and tax accounts linked by the end of the day.

Four people,one desk.

The one rule we have kept since 2009

Every business that lasts first kept its receipts.

Questionswe hearevery week.

Do I need an accountant if I use bookkeeping software?

The software records; it does not decide. We check what it has matched, fix what it guessed and file what it cannot.

Can you take over halfway through the year?

Yes. Most clients join mid-year. We pick up from your last filed return and bring the books up to date in the first month.

What if my books are behind?

We start with a catch-up at one fixed price, file every overdue return, and then move you onto a monthly plan.

Do you deal with HMRC for me?

Yes. Once you sign the letter of authority, HMRC writes to us and we answer — you get a copy and a plain-English note.

Will I always talk to the same person?

Yes. Every client has one named accountant and their direct number. Holidays are covered by someone who already knows your file.

Can I leave?

In any month. There is no notice period; we hand your records to whoever comes next, tidy and complete.
